A strong outside stimuli can cause a response called the Stress syndrome or the general adaptation syndrome. This impact most generally manifests as headache, muscle tension, acne, compromised immune system, anxiety, depression, anger, aggression, boredom, nervousness, withdrawal, nightmares and physical illness.

However, Stress is also associated with more serious effects, such as heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, AIDS, cancer, diabetes and not to forget several other disorders including mental illness such schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, and depression. Basically, just about every illness has been related to stress.

The influence of Stress on all aspects of health and the importance of understanding the complex interaction of the mind and body has increasingly become an issue for all of us. This website contains articles, resources and websites on stress and depression.
